Refining our mind. Shaping our future.
What future can we create with automation, AI, robotics, and emerging technologies? Where is technology leading us, and where will it take us? Do we have anything to say about it, or are we being pulled into the unknown?
Countless best- and worst-case scenarios circulate online. But if we step back and think deliberately: what future can we create with automation, the automation of software, machines, and systems?
The most extraordinary developments of our time lie ahead. A future in which we can let go of relentless hard work and the long hours of screen fatigue that leave us drained. A future where basic human needs are met by machines, AI, and robotics.
More creative than controlled
We can use the spare time this creates for what lights us up most, what our purpose and potential direct us to do. We can choose joy and ease in daily life. This is a shift toward being more creative than controlled, more cooperative than competitive, more aligned than fractured.
But it only happens if we choose it. Individually and collectively.
Lifting our vision
We need to lift our outlook above what we currently see, and from there look at the potential and opportunities that emerge when new technologies meet our boldest imaginations for a better world.
From this higher viewpoint it becomes simple to see the next steps required to steer society in a new direction.
What’s holding us back from the future we long for?
Current approaches can block radical improvement. For example:
- Centralized systems that preserve old infrastructure prevent truly decentralized renewable energy.
- Education systems fixed on standardized testing hinder adaptive, AI-enabled learning tailored to each child.
- Automation designed only to cut costs eliminates jobs instead of freeing people for meaningful work.
These are not problems of technology, they’re problems of mindset. We cannot see the alternatives if we remain reading from old rulebooks.
New solutions take us higher
We must design solutions that construct the new reality instead of patching the old. Band-aid fixes rooted in yesterday’s thinking will drive us downhill; bold redesigns lift us up.
Training this higher viewpoint takes practice. Just as we train the body, we can train the brain to adopt new perspectives and become visionary.
Begin here: a 5-minute sneak peek
Allow yourself five minutes of looking beyond everything your brain currently knows. Let go of what it has learned and experienced, just for five minutes. Stand clear and strong. What do you see when you imagine looking ahead? What can we create?
Delve into it. Give it time. Let it unfold. Train your brain in small steps to find a new direction.
When we refine our mind, we don’t just adapt to the future, we shape it.
PS: A future novel, or actually a future adventure, on this subject is coming up in a few months. Stay tuned!
